Responsibilities
Produce and underwrite new and renewal business from assigned agents/brokers in the primary line of business. Consistently achieve budgeted financial results (premium volume loss ratio premium collections and expense management including commissions) through new business acquisition retention of business and effective price management as a result of executing personal and branch objectives. Interact and collaborate with a team of Line of Business colleagues and other critical internal/external business associates. Position involves both outside and inside business development and includes direct responsibility for agency development and management within a book of business.
As a key player on our team you will:
- Underwrite and managea portfolio of performance and nonperformance bonds with precision and insight.
- Drive growthby acquiring new business and retaining existing accountsmeeting and exceeding financial targets.
- Build strong relationshipswith agents brokers and clients through regular travel strategic meetings and trusted advisement.
- Evaluate riskby analyzing financial statements bond forms and contract documents.
- Collaboratewith internal teams and contribute to the development of junior underwriters.
- Champion our brandby delivering exceptional service and representing our mission with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
- A bachelors degree (Business Finance or Accounting preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
- 47 years of surety underwriting or related experience (banking or credit analysis is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial and legal documents.
- Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal.
- A selfstarter mindset with a customerfirst attitude and a knack for problemsolving.
- Proficiency in tools like Word Excel PowerPoint and underwriting systems.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
Base Salary Range: $95k135K Depending on Experience
Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the scope complexity and location of the role; the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
