Berkley Aspire is an excess & surplus lines insurer of commercial risks unable to find a home in the standard markets. We are an operating unit of WR Berkley a publicly traded (NYSE WRB) global insurer founded in 1967.

The lines of coverage we underwrite include general liability property and excess liability. Our model is different than our competitors we do the premium billing and do not add interest/ finance percentage we offer enhanced commissions and we handle the stamping affidavit filings and other behindthescenes paperwork.

The Underwriting Technician role can be based in either of our Scottsdale AZ West Chester OH or Glen Allen VA offices and will provide processing and technical support to the Underwriting Department.

The primary focus is on submission clearance and policy issuance to ensure all transactions meet production and quality objectives and are processed within company established service standards.

This position will be assessed based on productivity accuracy thoroughness and ability to learn and apply new skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Issuance of new and renewal policies accurately and completely within established service standards.
• Reserving clearing and setup of submissions and transactions in accordance with established procedures and quality metrics.
• Timely and accurate processing of policy changes including endorsements cancellations nonrenewals and reinstatements.
• Issuance of bind confirmations for new and renewal policies.
• Inspection ordering.
• Research and respond to agent/insured correspondence calls and inquiries including requests for loss runs and copies of forms and endorsements.
• Multiline rating.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
• Models behavior that encourages collaboration teamwork and open communication.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 12 years prior insurance experience preferred.
• Customer focus continually responding with a sense of urgency.
