Job Description
Saint Josephs College of Maine is hiring for the position ofAdjunct FacultyBusinessfor instruction of aFederal Income Tax coursefor the Fall 2025 semester. The primary objective of this course is for students to develop a conceptual understanding of the federal income tax systemthat will facilitate skills applied in a tax analysis setting.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist in building a strong foundation of basic tax principles and concepts providing tax education
Teach an awareness of the economic legal social and political reasoning behind certain tax provisions
Instruction of the ethical context and preparer responsibilities within the professional tax practice
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Masters degree required
Basic understanding of the principles and procedures involved in the determination of federalincome tax liabilities
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:
Ability to demonstrate enhanced analytical and critical thinking skills by successfully confronting unstructured problems that have more than one defensible solution
Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills
Understanding of how taxes are an important component in both business and personal decision making
