Mental Health Worker

Explorations Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is hiring for a fulltimeMental Health Worker (Group Therapist).

TheMental Health Workerprovides direct treatment focusing on assisting clients to learn to respond to their daily environment in a productive manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively participates as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to evaluate and update comprehensive treatment plans for assigned clients.
2. Develop organize and conduct group therapy activities daily
3. Utilize behavioral and therapeutic intervention strategies listed in treatment plan for each client
4. Work collaboratively with the treatment team
5. Responsible for attendance recording for billing purposes.
6. Complete DAP notes pertaining to each client for each group therapy session
7. Meet with a client to assist in a crisis situation or to assist in deescalation
8. File notes for each client daily
9. Contribute to development and maintenance of an environment that is nonthreatening safe nurturing and where clients feel respected accepted and welcome
10. Implement Nonviolent Crisis Intervention strategies
11. Assume additional duties as assigned by the Director of Treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in recognized related Mental Health clinical discipline; Masters Degree in same fields preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children and youth who exhibit emotional disturbance; Preference for two years of experience in Mental Health field or related organization.
• Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to problem solve and use technology to work effectively.
• Ability to restrain students.
• Abiility to complete Tact2 & Safety Care Training.
• Crisis intervention training
• Due to itinerant nature of position must have a valid drivers license.
• TB Test/Physical (dated within one year)
• Sexual Misconduct/ Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
• Official Transcripts/Diploma
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police Child Abuse Registry andDHS FBI (dated within one year)

WORK SCHEDULE:

• FullTime MondayFriday 12month position (7 hours per day/224226 work days per year)
• This position follows a school calendar and includes various holiday breaks including Fridays off during the summer Holiday Break (one week) Spring Break and Summer break (one week off in June)

SALARY & BENEFITS:

• $44643$50000/yearbased on education and experience.

ABOUTUS:

Explorations Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a subacute program for children and adolescents with chronic or acute mental disorders who require active program strives to meet the students individual and emotional needs while maintaining them within the home and school communitybased program operates with a maximum of 35 students. The program focuses on stabilizing the students emotions and teaching the students acceptable behavior in order to transition back to the least restrictive environment with appropriate services in place.
