Reports to: Engineering Supervisor
Job Status: Fulltime Exempt
The DDC Controls Engineer is responsible for designing and supporting Building Automation System (BAS) solutions. This includes system design programming documentation and technical support throughout project execution. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical expertise problemsolving abilities and collaborative mindset to ensure successful project delivery.
Review mechanical and electrical plans specifications and customer requirements to inform system design
Create comprehensive design packages using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (including wiring diagrams schematics sequences of operation and bill of materials)
Develop and configure control system software and databases to meet project specifications
Provide technical assistance to field technicians during installation and commissioning
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure system functionality before and during installation
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology Electronics Engineering Mechatronics or related field (or equivalent experience)
4 years of relevant industry experience may substitute for a degree
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. C C Java Python VBA)
Proficient computer skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechatronics or Computer Science
3 years of experience designing or programming BAS systems (e.g. Distech Alerton Delta Tridium)
Experience with BAS programming (Function Block Ladder Logic or textbased logic)
Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD SolidWorks)
Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical project documentation
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Frequent: standing walking sitting using hands bending reaching outward
Occasional: pushing/pulling up to 12 lbs reaching above shoulder squatting/kneeling
Rare: lifting/carrying 1120 lbs
$95000 $125000 per year depending on experience certifications and technical proficiency.
