Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 1: Bachelors in human resource management Business Administration Economics or another related degree from an accredited university.
  • Level 2: Bachelors in human resource management Business Administration Economics or another related degree from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience OR Masters in human resource management Business Administration Economics or another related degree from an accredited university and 0 years of experience OR PhD in Human Resource Management Business Administration Economics or another related degree from an accredited university and 0 years experience.
  • Related experience includes experience in human resources fields such as compensation benefits labor relations employee relations training recruitment organizational development and other HR disciplines.
  • Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Action (FLSA).
  • Must have experience in excel (i.e. creating and manipulating spreadsheets pivot tables VLOOKUP etc.).
  • Experience commensurate with level.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in human resources within a governmentowned or run facility.
  • Experience conducting FLSA job audits.
  • Experience running analysis and building salary offers.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.
  • Certification in HR including PHR SHRM.

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($56196 $109644) /Level 2 ($65064 $133416). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education relevant experience and other credentials.
  • MultiLevel: This is a multilevel posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend use hands to handle materials manipulate tools keyboard and type reach with hands and arms and operate jobrelated equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Compensation Analyst to work in our Compensation department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate job positions determining classification FLSA status and salary.
  • Recommend and implement new and innovative compensation programs that are both cost effective and provide strong competitive positioning.
  • Support the laboratorys salary administration program through external market analysis evaluation of job descriptions completion of job audits and compensation policy development.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws including reporting requirements.
  • Prepare occupational classifications job descriptions and salary scales.
  • Provide advice on the resolution of classification and salary complaints.
  • Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations collective agreements
  • compensation policies personnel procedures and classification programs.
  • Perform multifactor data and cost analyses that may be used in areas such as support of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Prepare reports to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
  • Assess need for and develop job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Consult with or serve as technical liaison between business HR support teams and managers regarding salary offers.
  • Develop implement administer and evaluate personnel programs including performance appraisal and
  • employment equity programs.
  • Make determinations of candidate qualifications utilizing internal processes.
  • Develop competitive salary offers by considering external market and internal equity; provide recommendations for appropriate merit and promotional increases.
  • Strategize with HRIT to implement/enhance/maintain and fully integrate talent management processes that meet customer needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
