Job Description
Job Title: Cashier
Reports to: Store Manager Assistant Store Manager Floor Manager
Summary
The cashier is responsible for providing positive and friendly customer service. The cashier will operate a cash register to total customers purchases and accept payments verifying all prices and quantities are accurate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet all customers with a smile and friendly attitude
- Record prices subtotal taxable items and total purchases on cash register
- Collect acceptable forms of payment from customer and make change for cash transactions
- Maintain knowledge of weekly ad
- Review price sheets to note price changes and sale items
- Maintain a neat and clean register area
- Fill pop coolers tobacco and candy displays
- Verify proper identification when accepting checks and for purchases of tobacco and/or alcohol
- Additional duties assigned by management

Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
Must be able to constantly operate a cash register
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required (or in progress)
Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
Basic math and computer skills
