The Team

The Wealth Solutions Engineering (WSE) chapter area provides engineering knowhow talent and standards in many areas of the Fidelity Wealth business unit including digital planning & advice investment products managed solutions life insurance retirement & income planning and largescale platform development & operation. Within Fidelity Wealth you and your engineering team will directly support the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA) Experience group which owns the digital experiences used by our customers and advisors for researching purchasing and managing annuity and insurance products. As a leader on our WSE team you will have a direct and positive impact on Fidelitys customers. The industry leading products and everevolving technology stack that our chapter area supports ensures a great learning culture in the team.

The squad you will become part of primarily works on developing new user experiences and coordinating with other teams to integrate with existing user experiences across our annuity and insurance portfolio.

The Role:

As a Director of Full Stack Engineering you will lead the technical team to develop user experiences and the underlying platforms to support our customer experience. You will provide the technology knowhow leadership and influencing skills to drive overall technology strategy digital transformation thought leadership and talent development across the squads. You will provide technical guidance on lead initiatives that supply ideas to improve our products as well as develop your skills understand new technologies and industry trends and continue to learn while maintaining a strong focus on providing coaching mentorship and driving talent development across our engineering teams.


The Expertise You Have:

  • Bachelors degree Computer Science or other related field
  • 15 years of software development
  • Architected designed and built enterprise scale systems
  • Extensive integration with 3rd party platforms using industry standard protocols
  • Proven leadership and strong technical skills
  • Proven track record architecting and building complex endtoend systems
  • Ability to lead development teams and resolve technical/design issues
  • Experience working closely with business partners and providing the appropriate system solutions to the development team
  • Strong ObjectOriented analysis and design skills
  • Full stack Engineer with strong experience in frontend technologies like AngularJs Bootstrap etc. & middle tier technologies like Java NodeJs Python.
  • Experience with both SQL based and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong experience in cloud computing environments applications and tools
  • Cloud Native Engineering (AWS or Azure) DevOps and Cloud implementation experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience and knowledge of both waterfall and Agile/iterative software delivery methodologies
  • Ability to clearly convey information to a broad array of technical and nontechnical audience
  • Exceptional sense of customer service
  • Motivated selfdirected results oriented
