Job Description
The Shipping / Receiving Associate is responsible for the processing of all daily shipping activities (including packaging) ensuring the timely delivery of shipments. The shipping/receiving will receive and manage incoming deliveries verify items in shipment unload trucks and track any damages to shipment
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Verifies products prior to packaging and follows packaging instructions.
- Prepares items for shipment: completing shipping notices bills of lading invoices orders and other records.
- Determine shipping priorities work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping/receiving schedules utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures routes and rates.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy completeness and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements in inventory and routing and legal load limits on trucks.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping/receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Complies records of unfilled orders post shipments and keeps trace of those ready to move out.
- Properly accounting for location of incoming goods.
- Assists with shipping/packaging activities and may help colleagues in other departments as well.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma / GED
- 23 years working handson with picking packaging and shipping inventory in an automated (MRP/ERP) environment.
- Experience with UPS and Fedex shipping including software is a must.
- Experience with International shipping is a must
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Move/Lift/Carry up to 45 lbs
- Standing up to 6 hrs per day
