Job Description

Summary:
The S&R Material Handler follows established policies and procedures assures the shipment of parts in an orderly fashion so the shipments arrive on time and in good condition according to the customer demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transfer parts from warehouse to shipment staging. Ensure parts are scanned wrapped and have master labels. Check dock codes as required per customer.
  • Responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods within a warehouse or distribution center including receiving and storing.
  • Verify quantities against shipping records and report discrepancies.
  • Place incoming materials in designated storage areas.
  • Retrieve and prepare materials for shipment ensuring accurate packaging and labeling.
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload trucks using materials handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials including inventory levels cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Loading and unloading shipments while verifying product and quantities are correct.
  • All shipments are to be completed on a timely basis to ensure availability of commercial transport.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards for the operation of the forklift trucks.
  • Use Bill of Material located on Basic IV for all material changes.
  • Follow all PPE requirements to safely perform the job.
  • Perform all Housekeeping duties in conformance to the Housekeeping Verification
  • Any other duties as assigned by Plant Supervision
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hilo experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to recognize numbers and not transpose digits.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to touch handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to drive a forklift truck or operate a pallet jack. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus demonstrate depth perception and have good hand eye coordination.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear any loosefitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee may be required to work outside for short periods of time.
