Job Description
In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title or be reachable on the civil service list Exam # 2100 or be eligible under the 55a program.
Under immediate supervision in various City agencies performs common unskilled laboring work requiring physical strength. Moves lifts and carries items of various weights and sizes. May utilize hand or powerdriven equipment in the performance of duties. May be required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties. Assist in the maintenance of perpetual inventories and detailed inventory records. Assist in distribution of safety apparel to field personnel such as personal protective equipment safety vests gloves boots jackets rain gear etc. as needed. Conduct research to identify and resolve discrepancies to locate misdirected or possibly intercepted items. Performs related work. By assignment may oversee the daily activities of other laborers in the performance of their duties.
