Job Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and detailoriented Controller with extensive experience in accounting and financial management preferably within the construction services related industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience and a strong understanding of financial principles and practices. As the Controller you will play a crucial role in overseeing the companys financial operations ensuring accuracy and compliance and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger
- Manage the monthly quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process liaising with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Manage cash flow and forecasting to ensure optimal utilization of company resources
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning processes working closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets and monitor performance against targets
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisionmaking by the executive team
- Monitor industry trends and changes in accounting standards implementing necessary adjustments
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff providing guidance and professional development opportunities
- Implement and maintain financial systems and software to streamline processes and improve reporting capabilities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information for project costing and pricing decisions
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a senior accounting role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail
