The Internal Auditor is responsible for either participating or leading in the planning and performance of a wide variety of audit advisory service and investigation projects.
Completes and documents the projects in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Practice Advisories established by the Institute of Internal Auditors and the policies of Houston Community College System Internal Audit Department.
Plans prioritizes manages and performs multiple projects and tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare accurate and complete audit work papers that support audit observations and document work performed.
Prepare audit point summarizes of observations and the client agreed upon action plans.
Prepare audit reports for review and issuance by the Director.
Work as a team member or individually in conducting audit projects.
Participate or lead in audit project closing meetings communicating the audit results.
Assist audit management in performing risk assessments.
Represent the department in interdepartmental meetingsMay occasionally travel within the city to perform audits at various HCCS campuses.
Perform other duties tasks and assignments as required.

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
