Job Description

DESCRIPTION

MendocinoLake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a Short Term NonContinuing Associate Teacher I IV for our Child Development Center.

This is a temporary noncontinuing position. This position is open until filled.

Under direction of the Center Director and Child Development Specialist Assistant Teacher IV participates as a lead member of the teaching team to provide support and assistance in the daily activities of children enrolled in the CDV Center including but not limited to the job duties listed below under Representative Duties.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a ShortTerm NonContinuing (STNC) temporary hourly position 10 hours per week not to exceed 2040 hours per week $19.1021.72 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year up to 180 days.

Benefits: The College offers a Bronze level benefit plan at the cost of the employee.

Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn forty (40) hours of sick leave per fiscal year.

Retirement: This position may be eligible for CalPERS Retirement (contingent upon number of hours worked within the fiscal year)

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The successful candidate will support institutional success by executing the following duties:

ASSOCIATE TEACHER IV
Supervises children during classroom activities
Applies and follows proper safety and emergency procedures
Assists in the supervision and training of Assistant Teachers CDV students Associate Teachers IIII parents and volunteers
Prepares curriculum materials as needed
Conducts both small and large group activities
Carries out plans with each individual childs needs in mind
Follow verbal and written instructions
Maintains compliance with the Centers rules and policies
Shares responsibility of noninstructional tasks
Participates in staff and team meetings and attends inservice trainings as scheduled
Performs general cleanup duties to straighten and organize the Center
Maintains a positive and professional attitude with children staff and parents
Performs other duties as assigned

Supervision Exercised:
Supervises children of the center. Provides work direction and feedback to Associate Teachers IIIIII Assistant Teachers CDV students parents and volunteers.

ASSOCIATE TEACHER III
Supervises children during classroom activities
Applies and follows proper safety and emergency procedures
Assists in the supervision and training of Assistant Teachers Associate Teachers III CDV students parents and volunteers
Prepares curriculum materials as needed
Conducts both small and large group activities
Carries out plans with each individual childs needs in mind
Follow verbal and written instructions
Maintains compliance with the Centers rules and policies
Shares responsibility of noninstructional tasks
Participates in staff and team meetings and attends inservice trainings as scheduled
Performs general cleanup duties to straighten and organize the Center
Maintains a positive and professional attitude with children staff and parents
Performs other duties as assigned

Maintains a positive and professional attitude with children staff and parents

WORKING CONDITIONS
Often work indoors but sometimes work outdoors supervising activities during free time orrecreation activities; are sometimes exposed to diseases and infections; are sometimes exposedto sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable such as from a noisyclassroom;workverynearchildren; oftenworkwithininches ofotherpeople.

May be required to physically pick up a child; up to 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS

ASSOCIATE TEACHER IV
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check; Criminal Records Clearance Child Abuse Index.

Must successfully complete a Physicians Report and TB Clearance.

Three years experience as an Associate Teacher.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma and/or equivalent; 12 core CDV units completed and three years of experience as an Associate Teacher.

Licenses and Certifications:
Must be CPR and First Aide certified (within one year of hire) and meet all training requirements outlined by Community Care Licensing.

ASSOCIATE TEACHER III
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check; Criminal Records Clearance Child Abuse Index.

Must successfully complete a Physicians Report and TB Clearance.

Two years experience as an Associate Teacher.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma and/or equivalent; 12 core CDV units completed and two years experience as an Associate Teacher.
