JOB SUMMARY:

The Layout Designer will support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computeraided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified components and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance with the Oshkosh standards. Designer will focus primarily on chassis strategy and integration related subject areas including Chassis Layouts Weight Distributions Fuel Systems Design and other chassis to body interface systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be allinclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Update current drawings per markups based on direction from engineering; remaster CAD drawings to current format.
  • Use computeraided drafting systems to create 3D and 2D layouts following the direction of design team members.
  • Selfcheck own work to ensure accuracy and organization dimension and tolerance convention and conformance with established CAD specifications and standards.
  • Utilize ERP systems to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements.
  • Work directly with lead chassis integration engineer to produce Layouts/Weight Distributions and review chassis specifications for build approvals.
  • Work with engineers to develop designs related to chassis and body interfacing systems (Fuel Systems Auxiliary Axles In Cab Controls etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent* with two (2) years of experience in drafting/design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree or equivalent* with three (3) years of experience in drafting/design.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint email and CAD tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Power BI & SharePoint.
  • Familiar with chassis components and heavy truck layouts.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent Sitting Visual Typing Fine Dexterity Manual Dexterity Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion; Occasional Hearing Talking; Seldom Standing Walking/Running Bending/Kneeling Hearing.

*Note: equivalent equates approximately four (4) years of on the job experience to one (1) year of formal education.

Pay Range:

$50400.00 $77200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
