Job Description

Administrative Assistant

12 month position

Eastern Montgomery High School

Montgomery County Public Schools Virginia is accepting applications for an administrative assistant position that is available at Eastern Montgomery High School.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and workflow technologies
  • Computer literate proficient in Microsoft Office including EXCEL WORD PowerPoint and Google Docs
  • Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask work with interruptions and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents students school administrators and staff
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual
  • Payroll/Bookkeeping/Accounting/Purchasing Experience
  • Special education financial reports and reimbursements
  • Ability to create and distribute brochures and other supplies
  • Process various reports
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate administrative support to supervisors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the secretarial and/or administrative office fields
  • Experience in a school system
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable to meet the requirements of the specific assignments.
  • Computer literate proficient in Excel Word PowerPoint Access and Web Page design and maintenance
  • Experience with student and/or financial data systems
  • Knowledge of the special education process

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

SALARY: $31200.00 $57225.92 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience and prorated to start date
