- Network Design and Implementation: Plan design and deploy network infrastructure including LANs WANs VPNs firewalls and wireless systems
- Network Maintenance and Optimization: Monitor network performance troubleshoot issues and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation
- Security Management: Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and access control policies
- System Upgrades: Evaluate recommend and install network hardware/software upgrades
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations changes and troubleshooting processes
- Collaboration and Support: Work with other IT teams (e.g. cybersecurity server admins helpdesk) and provide technical support when needed
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network services
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree plus relevant certifications and experience may be acceptable
- 25 years of handson experience with enterprise networking.
- Experience with routing protocols (e.g. BGP OSPF EIGRP)
- Familiarity with SDWAN technologies VPN tunneling and VoIP setups
- Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds Wireshark Nagios)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- CompTIA Network
- Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA JNCIP)
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking (for cloud networking)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP subnetting VLANs ACLs NAT/PAT.
- Excellent problemsolving and criticalthinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Network Engineering or a related field
