Inspire Play Safety and Smiles as our next Playroom Attendant!

The City of Coppells Community Experiences Department is seeking a Playroom Attendant to provide a safe engaging and welcoming space for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years in the Sunshine Room at The CORE. This role is all about creating memorable experiences through games crafts and interactive play while ensuring a secure and structured environment for children and their guardians.

This yearround parttime position (1520 hours per week) is perfect for someone with a positive attitude strong communication skills and a passion for working with children. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge

  • Understanding of child supervision and ageappropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years.
  • Familiarity with facility guidelines and best practices for maintaining a safe and structured environment.
  • Knowledge of sanitation protocols for cleaning and maintaining toys and play equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures to ensure child safety in emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with reservation and checkin software (ActiveNet) for managing attendance and customer records.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional customer service to children and their guardians.
  • Ability to engage children in interactive play crafts and structured activities that promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to maintain a clean structured and safe play environment.
  • Attention to detail for recordkeeping including injury reports and attendance tracking.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.

Abilities

  • Ability to supervise and care for infants toddlers and young children while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Ability to enforce facility guidelines in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations including administering CPR/First Aid as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team within the Community Experiences Department.
  • Ability to maintain a positive energetic attitude while fostering a fun and engaging environment for children.
