Job Description

Job Title: Field Technician C

Job Description:

Field technician for L3Harris (Field Services Division) supporting multiple programs/systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) who can perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment at customer locations.

The position requires daily commuting to and from customer remote locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Field technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision and possess good written/verbal communication skills. This role will be responsible for supporting New Mexico Texas and Colorado areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI MS ADSB DCNS WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA.
  • Install repair configure test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers remote locations.
  • Able to work in a scheduled and oncall capacity at various customer locations within your assigned area. Occasionally travel to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests.
  • Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.
  • Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location).
  • Work directly with the NOCC the SAC and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field.
  • Maintain tools test equipment parts/electronics truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle.
  • Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
  • Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (oncall) when/if needed to meet customers needs.
  • Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft.
  • Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and programspecific policies/procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience or Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years experience including supervisory experience in lieu of a degree 5 years working experience specific to the telecom field.
  • Possess and maintain aDrivers License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and a DOD Secret Clearance.
