Job Description

Position Title:Distribution Lead

Classification: NonExempt

Reports To: Distribution Supervisor

Location:Denver

Compensation: $21.25 per hour

The Distribution Lead is responsible for the operations of order selection order accuracy and staging of products in all zones including dry refrigerated and frozen. Directs and trains team members and volunteers and execute pallet replenishments. Resolves and navigates different issues that may come up throughout the order selection process including maintaining inventory and overall team morale.

The mission of Food Bank of the Rockies is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger. We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for administrative tasks such as navigating Ceres accurately logging data in Excel and running operations reports designed for the Distribution Department
  • Responsible for communicating daily through email and Teams with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • Works closely with the Distribution Supervisor to accomplish daily and weekly work and objectives to include but not limited to the perfect order process safety standards being upheld and outstanding volunteer experience
  • Lead a team of up to 8 Food Bank of the Rockies team members including overseeing up to 25 volunteers daily
  • Lead/perform the replenishment order selection and staging of Agency Dock & other programs orders i.e. Mobile Pantry Kids Totes and our Food for Health program
  • Train and monitor Distribution team members and volunteers on the order selection and warehouse replenishment processes
  • Accurate scanning of all physical pallets and their movement within the warehouse
  • Maintain AIB food industry standards for proper product handling storage and warehouse sanitation
  • Responsible for the physical count of warehouse inventory and cycle counts.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Warehouse environment temperatures may vary (hot/cold); primarily cold
  • Ability to push and pull up to 2000 lb. pallets with a manual pallet jack
  • Shared office environment; outdoor work environment frequently/occasionally
  • Occasional handling of equipment used to facilitate the sale storage transport and disposal of food
  • Occasionally lifting to 50 pounds

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1year experience working in a warehouse
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Desire to help the community and fight food insecurity is a plus
  • Able to operate a standup/sitdown forklift required

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a nonexempt fulltime position working approximately 40 hours per week. Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays evenings and Saturdays. A typical work week will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Compensation:

$21.25 per hour
