Position OverviewThe Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire a fulltime Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the 202526 school year (1 year role). The ideal candidate will also have a special education license and experience working with schoolage students. About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 912 a middle school for grades 68 an upper elementary school for grades 45 and two lower elementary schools for prekindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967 Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 166 students (K12).
Key Responsibilities- Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion
- Develop and support the implementation of behavior analytic and naturalistic/discrete skill acquisition programming and behavior reduction treatment plans
- Consult with classroom teachers to develop classroomwide management systems
- Identify accommodations most effective for students based on individual need and supporting students in using accommodations within the classroom
- Model a precise and expressive use of language to effectively communicate with students including: expectations for learning directions for activities and explanations of content
- Use questions prompts and discussion techniques to cognitively challenge students advance highlevel thinking and discourse and promote metacognition
- Intellectually engage all students in learning through welldesigned learning tasks and activities that require complex thinking and include appropriate scaffolding
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning monitor student learning provide feedback to students and facilitate students selfmonitoring of learning
- Ongoing collaboration with teachers and related service providers
Desired Qualifications- Bachelors degree
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Licensed as a Teacher of Students with Moderate or Severe Disabilities in MA (preferred)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or BCBA preferred ideally in a diverse public school setting
- Competent with technology including Microsoft Office Google Suite and Zoom
- Strong work ethic and an eagerness to improve
- A commitment to doing whatever it takes to support all students learning and development
