Job Description

What Youll Do

  • Responsible for meeting the safety environmental and reliability requirements for the assigned system(s) or activities.
  • Compile data from maintenance processes and corporate databases (i.e. SAP PeopleSoft Oracle SQL Server) to analyze create reports and publish performance indicators.
  • Interfaces with support organizations regarding radiation safety industrial safety risk management explosives safety nuclear explosives safety waste management industrial hygiene environmental restoration quality assurance safeguards and security engineering and operations support.
  • Responsible for conducting routine inspections of all work areas assigned and developing corrective actions necessary to ensure continued operations.
  • Propose develop and maintain database and measurement solutions by communicating with internal customers to understand problems and desired future state.
  • Provides support for facility issues related to utility services and ensure proper alignments.
  • Responsible for initiating and coordinating corrective actions via requests for corrective preventive operational and modification/bettermentwork/maintenance work requests.
  • Interact with Construction personnel with the planning design and execution of all new projects for the facility.
  • Interact daily with facility support engineering in order to maintain facility operating systems.
  • Assist with Condition Assessments of the facility to identify needed improvements and repairs and to assist with securing funding for these repairs.
  • Assist with the performance of the Facility Condition Assessments for the assigned facilities; serve as Facility lock and key control coordinator.
  • Ensure seasonal freeze protection strategies are applied includes seasonal freeze protection checklist and surveillances.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/requested.
  • MS Excel skills and experience
  • Tableau knowledge (nice to have)
  • Nuclear material handling and safety knowledge
  • High level knowledge of industrial safety standards (e.g. OSHA knowledge)
  • Requires knowledge of waste management systems for waste disposition

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 10 to 15 years.
  • Masters degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 10 to 15 years.
  • PhD with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 15or more years of relevant experience.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
