Job Description:
L3HarrisAerojet Rocketdyne (AR) is seeking a Specialist Cost Accountingto join the Program Cost Accounting function reporting to the Sr. Manager Project Cost role has responsibility for various Program Cost Accounting functions of the divisions within the Segment which primarily include project cost analysis accounting for inventory contract assets and liabilities analysis of workorder variances and updating average costs among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills combined with a strong technical accounting background.
Essential Functions:
- Performs project cost analysis prepares cost metrics analysis of workorder variances including updating average costs as needed
- Responsible for posting cost entries to general ledger accounts and for the preparation of complex account reconciliations and analysis including project inventory costs and contract assets and liabilities
- Completion of quarterly inventory net realizable value (NRV) assessments for both contract and noncontract inventory
- Preparation of the quarterly income statement flux report explaining in detail the quarterly changes in various line items
- Preparation of programrelated monthly and quarterly Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) schedules
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements
- Preparation of adhoc reporting and assistance with special projects as requested
- Support audits (External Audit Internal Audit and SOX and Self Evaluation Testing)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 2 years experience with US GAAP and SarbanesOxley requirements
- 2 years experience in the monthly quarterly and annual close in a fastpaced close process with multiple often competing deadline
- 2 years experience with facilitating internal and external audits
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Experience with ERP System (preferably Oracle)
- Experience with HFM
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional organizational skills enabling monitoring of key due dates and activities
- Flexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service approach selfdirected assertive with a positive attitude
- Ability to develop broad cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California is $71500 $132500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
