The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools serve 1600 students from PreK12 and is a free openenrollment public charter school. Over 92% of our students are Latinx. Our school system consists of Guadalupe Centers High School Guadalupe Centers Middle School and Guadalupe Centers Elementary School. Our system grew out of Guadalupe Centers educational programming. Summary:
The Head Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the basketball program including planning organizing and directing team activities to promote studentathlete development sportsmanship and success on and off the court. The coach will work within Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regulations and school district policies.
Reports To: Athletic Director Principal & Vice Principal
Plan and supervise all practices games and team activities for the girls basketball program.
Develop individual and team skills while fostering a positive competitive and inclusive team environment.
Supervise assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities effectively.
Maintain open and positive communication with athletes parents athletic staff and school administration.
Ensure academic eligibility and support for all team members in coordination with school staff.
Manage team logistics including travel arrangements game scheduling and equipment inventory.
Promote good sportsmanship character development and school spirit.
Adhere to all MSHSAA rules and district policies regarding athletic participation.
Promote the program through appropriate communication channels camps and community engagement.
Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all studentathletes.
Monitor and promote the physical and mental wellbeing of athletes.
Attend required coaches meetings training and professional development sessions.
A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelors degree is preferred.
Valid Missouri teaching certificate (preferred but not required).
Prior coaching experience in basketball preferably at the high school level.
Must meet all MSHSAA coaching certification and eligibility requirements.
CPR/First Aid and Concussion Training Certification (required or must obtain).
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and positively influence high school studentathletes.
Must pass background checks and all district preemployment screenings.
