- Location: Trenton NJ
- Duration 1: Summer/ESY June 30th – July 23rd (Monday Friday) 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Duration 2: August 20th – November 17th (Monday Friday) 7:35 am – 3:00 pm
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Contract
- Working Hours: 20 hours weekly from Monday to Friday for Summer/ESY
- Working Hours: 37 hours weekly (August to November)
- Student Age Group: K8
Responsibilities: - Provide nursing care to students as needed
- Oversee procedures to address special health needs or disabilities of students
- Perform screenings for eyesight hearing scoliosis and obesity
- Support staff in response to student crises or healthrelated issues
- Plan and implement programs that proactively address student and staff health needs
- Document services provided
- Collect and distribute information about resources and services that will help students and their families maintain good health
- Track attendance information
- Coordinate healthrelated special education evaluations and services
- Participate in Pupil Assistance Committee (PAC) meetings as needed
- Participate in 504 plan meetings as needed
- Actively participate in the school community and support the school’s mission
Qualifications: - Certification as a School Nurse or enrolled in a School Nurse certification program
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Experience providing health care to children in a school setting
- The ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with children and adults
- Knowledge of New Jersey School Nursing statutes regulations procedures and practices
- Familiarity with the medical and psychological services available to students and families in our region
