Do you have the architectural design review and technical consulting skills needed to provide longrange planning that will preserve historic sites and museums administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) If so consider joining this dynamic and diverse team within the Bureau of Management Services Division of Architecture and Preservation in our responsibility for maintaining over 400 buildings in Pennsylvania. As an Architectural Consultant for PHMC you will plan design and oversee renovation and new construction projects on some of Pennsylvanias most important historic sites. Your responsibilities will involve ensuring that each site tells the history of Pennsylvania and is in good condition for the visiting public as well as ensuring that all construction projects comply with current building codes and standards for the treatment of historic properties.
You will have the opportunity to visit project sites to collect information develop design drawings and specifications for each assigned project and compile detailed cost estimates for proposed construction project activities. Our team will rely on you to provide expertise technical advice and assistance to other staff members and agencies; manage multiple projects simultaneously through design and construction; and effectively coordinate all work across all involved staff.
