VP Product and Engineering Operations

The role:
SailPoint is seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Product and Engineering Operations. This role reports to our SVP of Corporate Strategy and Product Operations and is responsible for driving operational excellence championing efficiency and ensuring collaboration and dependency management across our product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record in product operations and technical program management with a deep understanding of Enterprise SaaS DevOps SDLC best practices.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead mentor and develop a highperforming team of technical program managers product operations managers and developer relations specialists.
- Continually identify and manage risks and dependencies to accelerate velocity and ensure ontime delivery.
- Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement across the product and engineering organization
Operational Excellence:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive set of product metrics in partnership with the product management team to track key performance indicators (KPIs) measure user engagement monitor feature adoption and assess overall product performance ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous optimization.
- Implement and maintain robust status tracking systems to monitor the progress of product development ensuring timely updates on key milestones identifying potential bottlenecks and facilitating effective communication across teams to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Analyze COGS and infrastructure spend to ensure adherence to plan and guide pricing and investment decisions.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of critical engineering tools such as Jira and Jellyfish.
- Define implement and continuously improve SailPoints software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
- Manage relationships with key vendors and service providers.
Program Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the execution of strategic product and engineering programs and initiatives.
- Provide regular executivelevel reporting on program status risks and mitigation strategies. Work crossfunctionally with stakeholders across the rest of SailPoint to ensure alignment on the 12 month roadmap (e.g. PMM Customer Success SE teams etc.) and plug stakeholders into product launchrelated activities where needed.
- Set the rhythm of KPI setting and tracking for product and engineering organizations
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Own and run product and engineering QBRs working with the PM team to define the 12month roadmap and status tracking as well as product specific KPIs and engineering productivity metrics.
Financial Planning & Vendor Management:
- Participate in the annual financial planning process including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Manage several internal tool vendors negotiate contracts and ensure optimal service delivery.
- Act as the front door for new software purchases ensuring a consistent approach to procurement that is supported by real business need.
Information Security & Compliance:
- Partner closely with the Information Security team to ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in both product and engineering operational leadership roles with a focus on operations program management and/or project management.
- Metrics and dataoriented around building out and tracking KPIs QBRs and other key metrics
- Proven ability to build and lead highperforming teams.
- Work crossfunctionally with all key stakeholders to ensure roadmap delivery
- Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with Jira Jellyfish or similar engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of information security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Experience with financial planning and vendor management.
Bonus Points:
- Masters degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the identity security industry.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies (AWS).
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other relevant certifications.
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a rolespecific commission along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect SailPoints differing products industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary for USbased employees will be in this range from (minmidmax USD):
$222700 $318200 $413700Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employees home location.
