The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of worldclass Air and Missile Defense Systems Sensors and Effectors. The LWMDS department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheons Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) and Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) business areas from our Huntsville AL location. LWMDS Department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS) System Subsystem and Component levels. Key technical domains include: Architecture Requirements Interface Definition Radar Systems Effector Systems Battle Management Command and Control Communications Network Design and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.
The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a Huntsville Alabamabased Modeling and Simulation (M&S) team supporting the Open System Architecture Signal Injector (OSI) product. This role includes development and analysis of system and software requirements development of complex mathematical algorithms development of system architectures and support to software and integration/test engineers.
This is an Onsite role in Huntsville AL.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
You will perform architecture and requirements development activities that define characterize develop and document MDS radar OSI M&S capabilities.
You will perform architectural framework updates systemofsystem functional and performance requirements detailed algorithm descriptions test scenario definition and verification approach.
You will conduct requirements analysis and bench marking to verify algorithm designs ensuring systemlevel performance aligns with operational systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Science Technology Engineering Physics or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience
Experience with Radar Systems or other related systems engineering experience to include Model Based System Engineering.
Experience with radar signal processing signal processing theory and/or signal modeling
Experience with MATLAB (including objectoriented programming) and working on LINUX OS platforms.
Qualifications We Value:
Advanced degree in Science Technology Engineering Physics or Mathematics (STEM)
Eight (8) years of experience in the field of engineering or related technical discipline
Experience with radar system concepts; detection discrimination track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance
Experience with system level requirements development documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture
Experience with the development and coding of system models algorithms test vectors and evaluation tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance
Experience with developing documenting and maintaining processes methods and tools
Experience developing technical solutions to complex issues
Experience working with Python C/C Java or DOORS
Experience with the software development process using Agile Methodologies and tooling such as JIRA and Confluence
Documented experience showing analytic technical and problemsolving skills
Experience demonstrating your communication technical writing oral presentation and interpersonal skills
Previous experience interfacing with customers and leading technical solutions to complex user needs
Experience working with other disciplines and communicating with all levels of the organization and stakeholders

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
