APIs are fundamental to how software is built today. API producers want to offer APIs because they are an increasingly important way to reach customers. Companies like Stripe Twilio and Plaid are APIfirst because of this. Infrastructure companies like AWS and GCP drive huge increases in developer usage via APIs. Internally APIs enable teams to scale efficiently.
For API producers however offering an API that is easy to integrate with is far too difficult. Developers spend 70% of their time on activities other than building the API itself: writing endless docs and usage guides troubleshooting failed API calls setting up authentication building selfservice tooling for users the list goes on. Every team has to reinvent the wheel today. Most cant afford the time and resources to do so. The result is poor API developer experience unhappy users and low adoption.
Speakeasy enables every API developer to build worldclass APIs that match the best in the industry. Using Speakeasy developers can create idiomatic rich SDKs in a range of languages without needing to hire a whole team of engineers. Our SDKs reduce integration time from days or weeks to minutes. We also offer selfservice auth troubleshooting and usage dashboards saving producers months of dev time and providing API consumers with a delightful integration experience.
We were founded in 2021 and have already hit important revenue milestones. We have raised funding from topnotch VC and angel investors who share our huge vision and have significant runway.
Speakeasy is looking for a passionate and resultsoriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team! In this exciting role youll be the first point of contact for potential customers identifying and qualifying leads who are ready to unlock the power of Speakeasys innovative API platform. Youll leverage your strong communication and prospecting skills to build relationships with developers and businesses nurturing them through the sales funnel and setting the stage for success for the Account Executive team.
Prospecting: Identify and qualify potential leads within the developer and B2B software space through various channels including cold calling email outreach and social selling.
Lead Qualification: Conduct initial conversations with prospects to understand their pain points budget and decisionmaking authority. Utilize a consultative approach to assess their needs and how Speakeasy can address them.
Pipeline Management: Manage your assigned lead pipeline effectively using CRM software to track progress qualify leads and provide accurate forecasts.
Product Demonstrations: Schedule and conduct engaging product demos for qualified leads showcasing Speakeasys features and benefits in a way that resonates with developers.
Sales Enablement: Support the Account Executive team by providing research data and other resources to help them close deals.
Customer Relationship Building: Establish initial relationships with potential customers and nurture them through the sales process building trust and demonstrating Speakeasys value proposition.
You possess a Bachelors degree in Business Administration Sales Marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
You have a passion for technology and a strong desire to learn about Speakeasys innovative product.
You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and connect with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
You are a highly organized and selfmotivated individual with exceptional time management skills.
You have a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fastpaced resultsoriented environment.
You are comfortable with handling rejection and maintaining a positive attitude.
