As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth management you are part of an agile team that works to enhance design and deliver the software components of the firms stateoftheart technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team you execute software solutions through the design development and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product application or system while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust backend services using Java with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Design and implement scalable microservicesbased solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers designers and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction and backend architecture.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Stay uptodate with emerging technologies and best practices in backend development.
- Ensure the security and integrity of backend services and data.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2 years applied experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with backend frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot).
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in AWS environments and cloudbased solutions.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders product owners and platform teams.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Familiarity with modern frontend technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
