Fam is Indias first payments app for everyone above 11. FamApp helps make online and offline payments through UPI and FamCard. We are on a mission to raise a new financially aware generation and drive 250 million youngest users in India to kickstart their financial journey super early in their life.

About this Role:
We are looking for a highimpact Architect to join Fams engineering leadership team. In this role you will define and drive the longterm technical architecture across our product and platform domains. Youll work closely with founders product and engineering leaders to align systems design with business strategy enabling sustainable scalable growth of our platform.
You wont just build systems youll shape the technical vision and decisionmaking culture across the org. Were looking for someone with 10 years of experience who brings deep engineering expertise has scaled highgrowth systems and can operate as a force multiplier across multiple teams.
On the Job
- Define and evolve Fams longterm technical architecture across backend platform infrastructure security and data domains.
- Partner with Engineering Leads Senior Engineers and Product stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable and secure systems.
- Own architectural decisions for largescale initiatives: infrastructure modernisation platform evolution system redesigns orgwide migrations.
- Drive architectural standards governance models and reusable frameworks that improve developer velocity and system consistency.
- Evaluate tradeoffs across performance reliability security and cost; ensure tech choices are futureproof and orgaligned.
- Act as a thought leader and mentor growing the next generation of senior engineers and architects.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with security compliance and data teams to uphold industrygrade robustness and regulatory readiness.
- Constantly scan and integrate emerging technologies where relevant AI/ML infra serverless models edge computing etc.
- Act as a strong voice in buildvsbuy rearchitectvsrefactor and scalevsspeed decisions at the org level.
Musthaves (Min. qualifications)
- 10 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in Staff Principal Engineer or Architect roles.
- Proven track record in scaling distributed systems backend architecture and platform evolution in highgrowth companies.
- Deep understanding of cloudnative architectures (AWS/GCP) containerisation (Kubernetes) and infrastructureascode.
- Experience influencing and leading largescale technical decisions across multiple product or platform teams.
- Strong systems thinking with fluency in reliability observability security and crossdomain integrations.
- Exposure to fintech or regulated industries with experience handling sensitive data and building compliant systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills comfortable influencing technical and nontechnical stakeholders alike.
Good to have
- Experience working in earlystage or highgrowth product companies at scale.
- Background in platform engineering internal developer platforms or SRE culture.
- Handson experience with scalable data infrastructure e.g. Kafka ClickHouse PostgreSQL Redis or similar.
- Familiarity with domaindriven design (DDD) eventdriven systems and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Opensource contributions tech talks or writing that demonstrates thought leadership.
