Polar Speed a UPS company isa logisticscompany and innovative provider of temperature sensitive transportation and pharmaceutical supply chain solutions in the UK.

Pharmacy Dispensary Assistant

Based at Polarspeed Distribution Ltd Site 1 Chartmoor Road Leighton Buzzard Bedfordshire LU7 4WG

37.5 Hours Monday Friday between 08:00 16:30 or 09:30 18:00

The companyspecialisesin active temperaturecontrolled deliveries to hospitals pharmacieswholesalersand medical care surgeries as well as to end patients which it serves through its homecare business. Its customers include some of thebest knownpharmaceutical brands in the world.

As a Dispensing Assistant working within the inhouse pharmacy youllbe labelling and dispensing Homecare prescriptions ready for a final accuracy check maintaining accuratepatient medication records andprovidingsupport tofacilitatethe smooth operation of the dispensary.

Working 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 0800 and 1800 on a split shift basis you must be flexible and prepared to workadditionalhours as and whenrequiredto meet our servicerequirementswhich may be of an urgent medical nature.

NVQ Level 2 Dispensary qualification desired but not essential as full in house training will be given working towards the NVQ Level 2 certification which the company provides.

For successful Dispensing Assistant applicant Polar Speed will process basic disclosure criminal record checks.

Key responsibilities:

Label and dispense prescriptions

Maintain accuratepatient medication records

Accurate dispensing of homecare prescriptionsin accordance withMEP (Medicines Ethics and Practice guide)

Management of dispensary stationery and general dispensary standards

Compliance with stock management

Fridge temperature management

Activity to support the smooth running of the dispensary

Skills:

Mustdemonstrateattention to detail and accurately perform repetitive tasks

Must be able to work well under pressure and be able toprioritiseworkload

Demonstratea clear patient focus must be able to selfaudit and to accept responsibility for actions

Specialist Knowledge:

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services Skills (Dispensing) or Dispensing Assistant course equivalent

Therapy Knowledge for specific homecare therapies
