We are the largest nonNHS provider of endoflife care in the UK the only provider across all 4 nations delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country while providing information and support on all aspects of dying death and bereavement.Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good endoflife and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness theyre likely to die from.

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.Right now one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Your role in our mission..

We are looking for a dedicated physiotherapy professional to join our West Midlands Hospice team. The successful candidate will provide holistic personalised specialist care and physiotherapy treatment tailored to individual needs within the Hospice and surrounding Community. As aPhysiotherapist you will research and network across the system to understand the wide range of services available to patients and those important to them and work with other providers supporting the wider system to improve the experience of dying death and bereavement.

You will assume responsibility for the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of evidencebased high quality personcentred physiotherapy care and treatment for people living with a terminal illness. You will delegate as appropriate to other practitioners ensuring they have the capability knowledge and expertise to carry out appropriate treatment.

Job Structure: Full Time: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Job Schedule: Day Shifts; Monday to Friday

Salary: AFC England BandPer Annum (ProRated)

Base Location: Marie Curie WestMidlands Hospice

What were looking for:

  • HCPC Registered
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Sizable range of post qualification experience including therapeutic interventional and supportive treatments
  • Preferably with experience of working in a specialist palliative care setting either with a Hospice or within community settings
  • Understanding of concepts of palliative care and the holistic (physical psychological social spiritual) needs of the person and those important to them.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans alongside other healthcare professionals that meets the complex needs of the person and those important to them.
  • Proven understanding of the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome.
  • Decision making abilities backed with clear rationale.
  • Understanding of local policies and procedures professional codes of conduct legal and ethical frameworks in practice.
  • Support the learning and development needs of others through mentorship/supervision.
