Are you ready to help safeguard Scotlands wastewater networks from the impact of new developments Do you want to drive improvements that protect the environment and benefit our communities

Were looking for a Catchment Planning Team Leader to join our Flooding Team. Youll lead the assessment of development impacts on our networks driving improvements in our review processes. This is a key role in ensuring we deliver an affordable reliable and resilient wastewater service for today and the future.

What youll do

Youll work closely with Development Services Flooding Teams (Flooding Investigations & Flooding Solutions) and other departments across Scottish Water. Your role within the Catchment Planning Team is crucial in ensuring we use strong evidence to make informed hydraulic decisions enabling development while maintaining customer service levels and protecting the environment. Youll take the lead on improvement projects that enhance how Catchment Planning and Developer Services collaborate ensuring we optimise our processes particularly around sewer flooding risk and storm overflow performance.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role where youll have the chance to grow both technically and as a leader. Youll lead a team of 46 Catchment Planners and provide key support to the Flooding Manager. Youll take full ownership of the key activities for your team fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

There will be an opportunity to expand your responsibilities including leading a portion of the Flooding and UID capital programmes. Youll guide project teams in making evidencebased decisions to identify the best solutions for reducing sewer flooding risk and protecting the environment across Scotland.

What youll need

Youll need a solid understanding of wastewater networks catchment planning and hydraulic modelling methodologies. Strong leadership skills are essential as youll be guiding the development of sewer network interventions at Scottish Water and shaping their future.

Youll have experience in leading and motivating a team to achieve both individual and collective goals fostering a positive cando attitude with a focus on innovative intervention development. Building trust and credibility will be key especially when engaging with customers and stakeholders.

Youll have a proven ability to work collaboratively across a variety of teams both internally and externally and know how to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Experience in feasibility studies optioneering and developing evidencebased intervention scopes will be important in making wellinformed decisions.

Youll be able to think critically and process complex information with welldeveloped IT skills (including MS Office).

A valid UK Drivers License as this role will require you to travel.

The notsosmall print

This role will be a Grade 8. If youre new to Scottish Water youll join us on a starting salary of 48900. Performancedriven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of 68510.
