Work includes both onshore and offshore funds and both open and closed ended funds. We regularly work on the establishment of funds in the UK Luxembourg the Cayman Islands and the Channel Islands as well as other key jurisdictions such as the US Ireland and (for African funds) Mauritius. We operate across asset classes with a particular emphasis on real estate funds infrastructure funds renewable energy funds and private equity funds.
The practice is well balanced between work on private funds and listed funds with the majority of our work acting for GP/sponsors of those funds. On the listed fund side we have a balanced issuer and bank side practice and are one of the top two or three firms in the market for highend transactions.
We also have a vibrant practice advising key institutional investors on their investments into the full range of private alternative investment funds which provides a great insight into the current market terms. We also have a highlyregarded and rapidly growing secondaries practice working closely with our private equity team on the funds aspects of both GPled and LP portfolio secondaries transactions.
In addition to traditional real estate funds the team is also widely recognised for advising on high value real estate transactions and investment and development joint ventures that typically involve fund or fundlike structures.
