Job Description

We are actively seeking a Positioning Technician to survey the seafloor analyze bathymetric surveys and prepare reports for ongoing projects using specialized equipment and software.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

  • Manage the precise positioning of maritime equipment (barges cranes tugs etc.).
  • Participate in bathymetric surveys and data processing.
  • Measure and monitor the performance of dredging and marine construction operations.
  • Analyze data collected using geographic information systems and interpret it for planning and bidding purposes.
  • Evaluate the problems encountered in each project to provide solutions.
  • Assess the environmental and geographical conditions related to the projects.
  • Monitor each phase of the project and propose corrective actions.
  • Install maintain and operate marine geomatics equipment.
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health Safety and Environment Management System.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • College or university degree in geomatics or relevant experience in geomatics
  • Experience in marine geomatics (asset)
  • Available to travel to various locations in Canada for multiple days depending on projects sometimes outside of Canada
  • Knowledge of Autocad Civil3D and ArcGis Pro software (asset)
  • Knowledge of bathymetric surveying (asset)
  • Languages: Advanced level in French and English written and spoken.
