Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a lead technical accountant to join its corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Technical Accounting Director this position is a key contributor to the team providing leadership in areas of technical accounting research documentation and accounting policy.
Essential Functions:
- Provide expert advice on the accounting implications of complex transactions with a focus on revenue recognition leases and goodwill; questions/issues from segment program teams; and Treasury initiatives such as debt offerings
- Champion internal controls over financial reporting for Corporate Controllership
- Work with accounting and finance teams to prepare and review technical accounting memos and other documentation to support our accounting positions including for our auditors
- Play a lead role in maintenance of accounting and finance policies
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting guidance assess impacts to Corporate Accounting policies and revise these policies as necessary
- Clearly communicate accounting changes and accounting guidance at the appropriate level when dealing with different groups (e.g. staff and peers various L3Harris teams including executive management external auditors external advisors) as appropriate
- Become proficient in the understanding of the Contract Review Worksheet (CRW) and Contract Modification Review Worksheet (CMRW) the Companys templates used to document revenue recognition conclusions for new contracts and contract modifications respectively
- Review selected CRWs/CMRWs prepared by program teams provide feedback and work with the teams to drive a satisfactory final product
- Develop a rapport with segment program teams and provide mentoring as necessary
- Lead or assist in ad hoc projects as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- CPA with active license
- 6 or more years of public accounting experience with a Big Four or national firm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in accounting
- Experience in contract accounting preferably including U.S. Government contracts
- Big Four experience with audits of clients that are SEC registrants and/or U.S. Government contractors

- Strong project management skills including demonstrated ability to think endtoend and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
