What Youll Do

  • The Pantex Modernization Director for Site Planning in the Program Integration Division represents program and project authority and accountability within Pantex and is the key interface among internal and external stakeholders.
  • The Director provides program level management and control for planning authorizing and monitoring the accomplishments of work within approved technical scope schedule and funding constraints in accordance with approved work authorization and program execution plan documents. The Director is responsible for logically and systematically evaluating project planning and process problems to determine appropriate solutions and to manage a multidisciplinary project portfolio. The Director is responsible for directly coordinating and facilitating the activities of technical and administrative program personnel and effectively interfacing with internal and external customers including representing Pantex in meetings and negotiations within program assignments.
  • The Directors primary duty is the performance of site planning and execution and includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment denoted as follows: having the authority to formulate affect interpret or implement management policies or operating practices; carrying out major assignments related to the operation of the Companys business; work that affects business operations of the Company to a major degree and having the authority to commit the Company in matters having significant financial impact.
  • Independent judgment and discretion involves the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance.
  • The Site Planning Director will be responsible for shaping the development of the site in a way that meets the needs of all stakeholders. The Site Planning Director will be responsible for the following duties:
    • Overall responsibility to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic vision for the site to accommodate projected mission program and capability growth
    • Managing and leading a small team of program managers and site planners
    • Analyzing the infrastructure demand signals and enhancing the site strategic vision that accounts for and accommodates the following: new and/or modernized infrastructure and process capabilities and support functions planning for site utility requirements site population size traffic patterns etc.
    • Seeking input from onsite crossfunctional stakeholder and leadership team: Engineering Operations Program Management Project Management Environmental Security etc.
    • Recommending the most suitable placement of various infrastructure projects and supporting roads and utilities
    • Using computer software applications to assist the planning process including mapping land areas and forecasting planning development construction and startup costs
    • Creating site maps diagrams graphics and plans that show the layout and features of development projects
    • Giving presentations to introduce new development projects to stakeholders
    • Ensuring that proposed plans remain within allotted budgets
    • Leading planning meetings to share project plans with stakeholders
    • Staying up to date on laws and regulations related to construction zoning and environmental protection

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 20or more years of relevant experience

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
