Job Description

Job Title: Specialist Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

The SpecialistManufacturing Engineer develops implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
  • Plan develop initiate and maintain processes for the electronics assemblies.
  • Create detailed work instructions procedures PFMEAs and JSAs that meet design process quality safety and environmental requirements.
  • Provide shop floor support for SMT PTH CCA assembly and rework.
  • Provide technical guidance and/or training to the shop floor design and management teams.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications in support of developingrobust and advanced part and tooling designs.
  • Interface with all of the related support groups for processes to ensure accuracy control and safety of the personnel and quality of the hardware.
  • Perform investigations of nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Present fabrication processes at customer readiness reviews and present process changes to customers at change board meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL MCM Power Analog Controls Aerospace industry or Optical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts.
  • Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows).
  • Familiarity with JSTD001 and/or IPC620.
