Job Description

Were seeking a detailoriented and dependable Aseptic Monitoring Technician to support cleanroom and controlled area monitoring in a biopharmaceutical environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with GMP standards by collecting environmental and utility samples managing data and supporting lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and aseptic processing areas
  • Collect samples from highpurity water clean steam and compressed gas systems
  • Handle and document samples in accordance with SOPs and GMP guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of lab supplies media and reagents
  • Perform cleaning of controlled temperature units and operate autoclaves
  • Support lab functions equipment maintenance and calibration coordination
  • Use LIMS to track samples and test results
  • Participate in weekend holiday and oncall rotations
  • Assist with training of new team members

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences or equivalent handson experience in a related field
  • Basic understanding of microorganisms contamination risks and aseptic techniques
  • Strong attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Selfmotivated adaptable and open to learning new techniques and responsibilities
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks maintaining accurate records and following standard procedures
  • Proficient with computers and comfortable using scientific tools and software
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Handson experience with environmental monitoring in cleanroom or GMP settings
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and documentation practices
  • Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

Additional Information

This position is an indoor labbased position working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and lab spaces. Position requires significant time spent in ISO 8 cleanrooms with the following restrictions:

  • No cosmetic products or applications (such as makeup false lashes spray tans etc) are permitted and must be removed before entry
  • Nails must be kept short trimmed and unadorned (no nail polish rhinestones etc)
  • No jewelry may be worn (exceptions are medical alertrelated and one smooth ring band that can be easily covered by a glove)
  • Hair must be able to be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and able to be secured in a beard cover.

Ability to meet physical demands including but not limited to routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs or more walking and standing for extended periods pushing or pulling carts and equipment and bending down or reaching for supplies.

Additional Details: 

The position is fulltime second shift Wednesday Saturday 12:30 pm 11:00 pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer New York are encouraged to apply.
