Job Description
- Review patient records to identify necessary information for billing and coding.
- Assign appropriate ICD10 codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Process medical collections and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations including DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) systems.
- Utilize various medical office systems to manage billing processes effectively.
- Assist in training new staff on medical billing and coding practices as needed.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology ICD10 coding DRG systems and medical records management.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- An active Billing and Coding Certificate (CPC CCS CMC etc.)
- 5 years of billing experience and coding denial resolution
- Valid TX drivers license
Preferred
- 3 years experience billing and coding using an Electronic Medical Records system.
