Paraprofessional Sheffield City Schools (Alabama)
Spur a digital staffing agency is seeking dedicated and punctual paraprofessionals to support Sheffield City Schools.
Position Overview
This role involves working closely with teachers and staff to provide support for special needs students in a fastpaced educational environment. The ideal candidate will be professional adaptable and committed to upholding the standards set by both the school and Spur.
Paraprofessionals are expected to dress in business casual attire and represent the school in a positive and professional manner. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work oneonone or in small groups with students.
- Assist students with basic grade schoollevel coursework.
- Support students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Escort or supervise students during school activities.
- Adapt to varied and changing student behaviors.
- Provide support to new students with different needs as they arise.
Qualifications
- Must complete a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00).
- Minimum of 48 college credit hours from an accredited college/university.
- Must complete MCS Training (provided at no cost by Spur Training Manager).
- Required online training.
- At least one year of experience working with special needs children.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $15.19 $16.30 per hour (based on experience).
- Schedule: Monday Friday 7:15 AM 3:30 PM (school session hours may vary by location).
