Job Description
We are looking to welcome a Middle School US History Teacher and Advisor into our community of educators that actively strive to be diverse equitable and inclusive. Reports to: Head of Middle School
As a Middle School History and Social Studies Teacher at Ravenscroft here is what you get to do:
- Teaching five sections of a combination of U.S. History and electives reflecting the candidates passion and expertise
- Designing and delivering lessons that focus on both the fundamentals of course material and authentic applications in support of the Ravenscroft mission to nurture individual potential and prepare students to thrive in a complex and interdependent world
- Exhibiting superior teaching skills that demonstrate best practices including inquirybased learning differentiated instruction and facilitation
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum.
- Cultural competence and the ability to connect with a diverse community of students faculty staff and parents
- Advising approximately 12 students and facilitating the integration of Ravenscrofts Lead from Here curriculum
- Demonstrating effective technology skills including the ability to use Ravenscrofts learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross)
- Serving on committees and/or facilitating an active student club. Experience and interest in coaching a sport is highly desirable
- Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback adapt to different learners needs and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive department
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in History/Social Studies History/Social Studies Education or a related field; Masters degree and experience teaching Middle School history/social studies highly desirable.
