Position at Pilgrims
Staff Veterinarian
Purpose & Scope: This position will have direct veterinary responsibility for multiple Pilgrims complexes working with live management in all areas (pullets/breeders hatchery broiler grow out and plant) satisfying regulatory health requirements ensuring implementation and compliance with company programs and contributing to the Pilgrims Veterinary Services team.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Direct contact for bird health animal welfare and biosecurity in multiple Pilgrims complexes
- Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance related to VFDs Rx NPIP and USDA health/export certificates
- Training and education of live team personnel
- Contribution to Pilgrims vet team efforts on group projects trials etc.
Travel:
- Routine travel required to assigned complexes
- Additional travel to live meetings continuing education conferences etc.
Required Qualifications:
- DVM or equivalent
- Post doctorate training program in poultry medicine preferred
- ACPV diplomate preferred
- Veterinary license and federal accreditation with ability to be licensed in multiple states preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Office suite competency
