Senior Java Software Engineer

One of our clients operates prominently in the financial sector where we enhance operations across their extensive network of 150000 workstations and support a workforce of 4500 employees. Our IT solutions ensure streamlined processes and heightened security enabling them to maintain leadership in financial technology.

This project is part of a broader program consisting of four distinct initiatives within the financial and banking sector each with unique roles and objectives. One of these initiatives focuses on redesigning and optimizing an existing application for managing authorizations. The improvements aim to enhance both functionality and modularity ensuring the application aligns with evolving industry requirements and supports the dynamic needs of financial operations.

Responsibilities

Design scalable solutions: Architect develop and maintain Javabased backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.

Deliver highquality code: Implement Spring Boot applications following best practices in clean code testing and performance optimization.

Drive modern deployment practices: Collaborate with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes and integrate CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins.

Leverage eventdriven architecture: Use Kafka to build robust asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.

Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient Oracle database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.

Contribute to strong engineering standards: Engage in architectural discussions perform code reviews and contribute to high engineering standards.

Mentor and grow the team: Provide guidance to junior developers and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

• 5 years of experience in backend software development using Java 8 or above.
• Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Handson experience designing and implementing RESTful microservices.
• Solid understanding of Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for automated build and deployment.
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and working with databases.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming messagedriven systems and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices.

Nice to have: 

• Experience in performance tuning and monitoring Java applications in production.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana Dynatrace.
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development.
• Cloud platform experience is a plus.
