Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detailoriented and proactive Freight Coordinator / Shipping & Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize our shipping and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and costeffective transportation of goods maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with carriers suppliers and internal teams to arrange transportation and resolve any logistical issues.
- Manage full truckload (FTL) shipments and work directly with freight carriers and trucking companies.
- Perform data entry and logistics documentation with accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipping documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local national and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to manage stock movements.
- Track shipments and provide realtime updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers to achieve cost savings.
- Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
- Call and email clients vendors and logistics contacts to ensure smooth operations.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to shipping and delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight coordination shipping or logistics roles.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Freight experience is essential especially with full truckload (FTL).
- Experience with import/export logistics is a strong plus.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS).
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
