Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Civil Engineer to support a Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) project for a major client based in Rome Italy. As part of the owners engineering team the Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and reviewing civil and structural engineering deliverables from the FEED contractor ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering activities during the FrontEnd Engineering Design (FEED) or Basic Engineering phase of a Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) project.
Supervise and interface with FEED contractors to ensure that civil deliverables meet quality schedule and technical requirements.
Review and approve design documents such as site development plans foundation designs structural calculations and general arrangement drawings.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards client specifications and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g. process mechanical electrical) to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration.
Participate in design reviews constructability assessments and technical coordination meetings.
Support the client team in Rome with civil engineering expertise and act as a liaison between the client and contractor.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role working on major oil and gas projects.
Proven knowledge of international standards applicable to civil and structural design (e.g. Eurocodes ACI AISC ASCE).
Experience in FEED or Basic Engineering phases is highly preferred.
Ability to manage thirdparty engineering contractors and coordinate technical reviews.
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian or French is considered a plus.
Strong leadership communication and problemsolving skills.
