Software Development Manager, Transact

As a Software Development Manager in Transactional Storage and Config you will work to enable the movement of critical Amazon data allowing business service workloads to operate regions of their choice. The endstate architecture will enable services to break region coupling while retaining the ability to keep critical business functions within a region. This architecture will improve customer latency through local affinity to compute resources and reduce the blast radius in case of region failures.

We are looking for a passionate deeply technical and resultsoriented Software Development Manager to define and drive Transactional Data Movement initiatives and drive fundamental architectural changes across the Amazon software stack to enable this vision.

Key job responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of experienced software developers to design develop deploy and support key features of the data movement tools.
Lead the development of the data movement tools while supporting the current generation of the tools.
Lead recruiting hiring mentoring and building a positive team culture.
Connect with customers on a regular basis build the roadmap for the team collaborate with the product manager team and other sister teams to execute on new projects.

The Transactional Storage and Config (TSC) organization supports the Amazon builders by providing technologies for Transaction Storage high cardinality configuration storages and safe movement of Amazon Data. Our projects support Amazon businesses like Stores Alexa Kindle and Prime Video. We drive adoption of everevolving AWS and nonAWS technologies and work closely with AWS teams to improve AWS public offerings. Our organization focuses on robust and scalable solutions simple to use and delivered with engineering best practices. We leverage and build foundational infrastructure capabilities tools and datasets that enable Amazon teams to delight our customers. 3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
Bachelors degree
