Head of Pensions Programme Management

Salary Circa 110000

Are you an experienced pensions professional with a passion for leading complex highimpact programmes


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with deep pensions knowledge and programme management expertise whos ready to take on a strategic leadership role. It would suit someone who has led largescale pension derisking projects or managed multistakeholder pension schemes and is excited to shape the future of Avivas staff pension schemes.

A bit about the job:

This is a pivotal role within Avivas Trustee Executive Services team responsible for overseeing a multiyear programme of pensions projects including buyin transactions GMP equalisation and the eventual windup of the staff pension schemes. Youll work closely with internal and external stakeholders including actuaries legal advisers investment teams and regulators to deliver outcomes that align with the Trustees strategic objectives. With oversight of projects totaling over 5 billion your leadership will directly impact the financial security of scheme members and the success of the Trustees pension strategy.

Skills and experience were looking for:

  • Extensive experience in pensions programme management ideally including largescale derisking or buyin transactions
  • Proven ability to manage complex multiyear projects with significant budgets (c.30m)
  • Deep understanding of UK pensions regulation and best practices
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to drive innovation within the pensions programme identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing new strategies to meet the Trustees strategic objectives
