Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Payin Platform team in London United Kingdom. In this role you will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining the core backend systems that power our cuttingedge payment platform. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver robust scalable and secure solutions that meet the evolving needs of our global customer base.
- Design and implement highperformance scalable backend services for our payment platform
- Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to define and implement new features
- Optimize existing systems for improved efficiency reliability and performance
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for integration with internal and external systems
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the teams technical decisionmaking process
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the teams knowledge sharing initiatives
- Stay uptodate with emerging technologies and industry trends in backend development and payment systems
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
- 5 years of experience in backend development with a focus on building scalable and reliable systems
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java Python or Go
- Extensive experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Indepth knowledge of database systems including both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) and their associated services
- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Experience with version control systems preferably Git
- Strong understanding of payment systems and financial transactions
- Knowledge of security best practices for handling sensitive financial data
- Familiarity with payment industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or payment systems are a plus
